I recently visited the new Smokey Mo's BBQ in Temple, TX, and was thoroughly impressed! From the moment we walked in, the reception was outstanding. The staff was not only welcoming but also very helpful, taking time to explain menu options and specials with genuine enthusiasm. One unique touch was having someone on the floor helping with trays and bringing orders directly to the table, making the experience feel extra attentive and customer-focused. The atmosphere was inviting, perfect for enjoying a great BBQ meal. And speaking of the food—everything was delicious! Temple is lucky to have this new location, and we’ll definitely be back for more. Smokey Mo's is a fantastic addition to the area.

Delicious! Went with a coworker at lunch time to try for the first time. Everything was so clean and organized. Ordering was simple all of the bonus fixings were available for self serve. Overall, everyone was kind and courteous. It was a great experience. The chicken was great, juicy, and had a nice smokey texture. 10/10 will be back

I ordered my husband a plate off door dash. The meat was very flavorful, but the sides needed a tad more seasoning. Overall, its pretty good. We would order again.

Preface: BBQ in Texas is held to a higher standard due to the abundance of BBQ restaurants. Open seating and walk up ordering that resembles Mission BBQ (a chain bbq restaurant) Very clean inside and the guy working the counter was friendly, polite and helpful. I ordered the 3 meat plate with 2 sides. Brisket, ribs and regular sausage. My sides were cheese bacon potatoes and coleslaw. Sides: the slaw was pretty much standard, fresh and nothing crazy. Would please most anyone. The cheese bacon potatoes were low effort… quartered redskins with shredded cheese and crumbled bacon plus a few chopped green onions. (I feel it would have been better if they broiled them or somehow melted the cheese.. Meats: The sausage was lackluster and on the bland side. Good portion tho! The ribs were delicious and had a great texture and flavor. Also a good portion. The brisket was delicious as well, the end piece I got was gorgeous!!! Packed with flavor and smoke! Maybe a slightly smaller portion than the other ones. I paid $28, which i think is fair. Overall: 4/5

We did an order through the app for pick up. The only negatives for us were the pork ribs and the amount of smoke on certain items. The pork ribs were a little off tasting, and some portions had way too much salt. The pork belly burnt ends were a very pleasant surprise. The brisket was good. They were sweet and sticky. The homemade roasted cream corn was tasty, the coleslaw was run of the mill not the greatest. The staff was great and friendly the way an establishment should be. It was a great first visit.

Smokey Mo's BBQ, nestled in Temple, Texas, offers a fresh take on authentic Texas barbecue. From the moment you step inside at 6768 W Adams Ave, the warm welcome and attentive service set the tone for an inviting dining experience. The staff’s genuine enthusiasm and personalized attention—from explaining menu highlights to assisting with trays and delivering orders—show a deep commitment to customer care.

The true star, of course, is the food. Smokey Mo’s serves up smoky, flavorful meats that capture the essence of Texas BBQ. The brisket stands out with its rich, smoky flavor and tender texture, often leaving diners impressed. Ribs receive high praise for their juiciness and perfect char, while the chicken delivers a moist bite paired with a signature smoky taste. Sausage and pork ribs have mixed feedback, suggesting room for improvement, but the pork belly burnt ends are a delightful surprise with their sweet, sticky glaze.

Side dishes provide comfort and familiar flavors. The cheese bacon potatoes offer a hearty, if straightforward, complement, though a slight enhancement—like melting the cheese more thoroughly—could elevate the dish. Coleslaw and roasted cream corn round out the meal with freshness and sweetness, balancing the richness of the smoked meats.
